SaigonSighs96 – Goes to London Town – “Let me take you by the hand and lead you Through the Streets of London.” Ralph McTell 1969.

The amazing St. Paul’s Cathedral, this latest version completed in 1710 sits on the highest point in the City of London. Designed by Sir Christopher Wren who is buried there along with Admiral Horatio Nelson and The Duke of Wellington.

Climb 259 steps and you come to the famous ‘Whispering Gallery’ in the Dome. If you whisper a message, your friend will hear it 38 metres away across the other side of the dome.

Then there’s the incredible British Museum!

How to look good if you’re over 4,000 years old and from Egypt!

Eye! Eye! or maybe Aye! Aye! – a pod with a view!

The Houses of Parliament. A man called Guido Fawkes tried to blew this place up along with all it’s occupants in 1605. He was a Catholic who didn’t like Protestants – yes it’s that religion thing again!

Westminster Abbey has been around since the 13th Century. Over 3000 Kings, Queens and warriors are buried in and around it. If you are a ‘Royal’ and want to get married, this is the place for you.

The Shard, apparently it’s square inside. Designed by Renzo Piano – 310 metres high.

Tower Bridge, so named because it’s close to this place.-

“The Bloody Tower” – of London! So named because if you were a mate of the King and fell out, this is where you met your end. If you were ‘rif-raf’ they executed you on the nearby Tower Hill.

Pre Boris PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).

Cilla asked – ‘What’s it all about Alfie?’

No idea! Better ask Charlie!

Well here we all are, we have Robots, Computers, quantum physics, smart phones, space travel and now A.I————Yet! We’re still blowing people up and killing helpless children!

Love and peace John
